Fiber Arts

Taught by Ms. Revati Vinayak, ASP Art Teacher

Quarter 1* starting October 2: Wednesdays 2:15 - 3:05 for grades 1 and 2

 

An exploration of all things constructed from fiber. In this eight week course, students will create a variety of useful objects utilizing cloth, yarn & thread, and even raw fibers! We will learn about natural and synthetic fiber sources, about various techniques for dying and constructing material, some history of fiber arts and practices, and have opportunities to try our hand at the craft using modern and ancient methods.
