GISB Symphony Taught by Ms. Regine Schemroske, GISB music teacher Language: German Full Semester commitment: Mondays 3:10 - 4:10 for grades 1 - 12* If your child loves to play an instrument, enjoys making music with friends, and always wanted to play in an orchestra (Symphony is just another word for orchestra) then the GISB Symphony is the perfect place for your son or daughter to gain expert experience. Don’t miss the opportunity for your child to become part of a unique group of musicians. We are open to passionate musicians ages 7-18, who will participate during 2-3 performances a year. We will rehearse weekly, and prior to concerts, we will likely add a couple of in-school rehearsals. The orchestra will be conducted by our music teacher, Regine Shemroske and supported by her intern and a volunteer parent. We will continue working on Haydn’s Toy Symphony II & III, and hone our skills playing catchy Evergreens from Musicals and Films. Having fun through playing together is paramount as well as learning about the way a symphony works. The GISB Symphony is generously sponsored by an anonymous donor. Participation is free. Requirements: -Enjoyment of making music with others -Playing a percussion Instrument: drums, triangles, rattles, pipes, etc. (no lessons required) -2 year private instrumental lessons - Elementary Students (grades 1- 4) must also participate in the GISB Symphony: Practice (Mondays 2:10 - 3:10) We will perform at the Winterfest and welcome musical parents to join the performance. Feel free to reach out to Regine Shemroske (Music Teacher) or Pauke Corstens (Parent volunteer) if you have any questions. The GISB Symphony is made possible through the generous support of a private donor, allowing participation at no cost for our students. We welcome donations to our Musical Symphony Fund. Interested individuals or organizations are encouraged to reach out to our Director of Development, Britta von Gadow.
